Based in Pleasanton, California, MaiBoutique was launched in 2009 by Mai Doan. Mai personally selected each bag style and other accessories handmade by artisans from local villages throughout Vietnam. An expatriate for nearly 30 years, Mai rediscovered her homeland seven years ago and was overwhelmed by the many treasures all handmade by local Artisans. She was also overwhelmed by the poor living conditions of these talented people and the children of Vietnam. The idea to create MaiBoutique.com came from these visits. Mai can now do what she loves and help the people of her birth country at the same time.
